One Day

March 4th, 2009

Walk along this path and you’ll see
How painful this life can really be
Force the dragon through the needle
Leave his tracks around you on the floor
You won’t feel anything anymore

Come around with eyes blurry and red
Not much more and you’ll be dead
Struggle and stand just to fall back down
Your head is pounding and mouth is dry
Stare out the window as time passes by

Finally you’re up and heading to the door
Hungry, weak, and tired, but you need more
Pull the hood up to block out the stares
Sit alone on the bus, no one comes close
Slowly the pain in your stomach grows

Climb off the bus at the next stop
Enter the building and head to the top
Glance around and bang on the door
A quick exchange and your on your way
Soon you’ll have no memory of today

Needle and syringe appear by your side
Fingers tremble as a rubber strap is tied
The dragon is knocking at the gates
It breaks the skin as you let him in
The cycle has repeated itself again

Your eyes roll back showing white
Body is worn out with no more fight
The world turns to haze and it’s gone
Good byes are said and tears are shed
Not today, but one day you’ll be dead

No reason to rush the inevitable.

The White Line

March 4th, 2009

He lives his broken life alone
Unseen, unheard, and unknown
He walks in the darkest shadows
One step away from the gallows

A mask where his face once was
Holding an expression without cause
Frozen by a hateful father time
The only relief in a thin white line

Crushed and crumbled it awaits
Keeping him from crossing hells gates
The dust burns and quickly heals
All the worlds wrongs that he feels

He stumbles along life’s short path
As it let him feel all it’s wrath
He is a creature en caged with rage
Hating it all as time turns the page

One day it will all be no more
Soon he will settle the score
For now he just walks the white aisle
He passes. Step by step, Mile by mile

The picture always so dark and gray
Happiness is only a fix away
It rushes in and hits the brain
Color has returned once again

Life pours out his nose in a pool
Feels so good but in the end so cruel
He leaves the earth free from pain
The white line coursing through his veins

Do you know?

December 7th, 2008

Read bout mistakes and glories
A chapter in lifes many stories
One day at a time, it always ends
Hide tears as you leave family and friends

Hold on tight to what you know
You don’t need anything to show
Just as the changing of the weather
Nothing in this life last forever

Promise one thing, don’t forget me
Only you can set yourself free
As you fade out into the falling sun
Everyones time will eventually come

Hide the tears from the mirrors face
Keep searching and you’ll find your place
Draw a picture of your past times
Move on adding color between the lines
